Naomi Kayser

Writer, designer, creative.

As a recent graduate from the University of Santa Barbara, California with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Communications and a minor in Professional Writing, I have extensive experience with editorial and marketing writing and content creation.

Both my academic and work experiences have led me through opportunities in journalism, PR, and publishing. I have worked with at least 5 social media accounts across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, and have over 70 articles published under my name.

I am looking for experience in PR, editorial, and writing and identity curation for brands.

Give me a role, and I will play it.

Or rather, create it.

Whether due to my 18 years as an older sibling or my “rising in Aries,” I am direct, assertive, and confident. I am also quite a logical person, and I like to try things on my own first. At best, a creator and problem solver; at worst, compulsively Type A.

My tendency to plan and lead projects on my own has translated to a passion for “thrift flipping:” transforming the gems I find at the thrift store into items I will get more wear out of. I save tons of money thrifting and flipping, all while creating pieces that only I own.

The process is frustrating at times; the many broken needles and unfinished hems can attest to that. Still, my favorite thing about upcycling clothing is the ebb and flow of creativity: I can let fate take control of the final product, all while building confidence throughout the process of discovery.

I will always take pride in fulfilling projects with imperfect paths to completion. Each of the articles, social media campaigns, and miscellaneous projects in this portfolio reflects this ideology, uniting my love of creating into one cohesive idea.
